25th April 2016 - 50th Birthday

Long Lane School celebrated its 50th birthday on the 25th April 2016. In assembly the time capsule created on the school's 25th birthday was opened. Governors and past & present staff with more than 10 years service were invited to an open afternoon. Children entertained them with singing and maypole dancing. The hall had lots of displays showing pupils and events over the last 50 years. Mr Thorne greeted everyone and the school choir sung Happy Birthday. Daphne Osborne one of the original teachers cut the birthday cake.
